Where to brunch in North Norfolk

The best places to have brunch in North Norfolk

If you’re staying in, or around Brancaster, Burnham Market, Holkham and Thornham then check out these wonderful places for a relaxing breakfast or brunch.

Initially let’s tick off how we define North Norfolk, as this differs from one local to another! At Norfolk Cottage Agency we refer to the North Norfolk coast running from Cromer all the way through to Brancaster (although Thornham is super close too!). What’s amazing is that you can walk the Norfolk coast path all the way from one end to the other.

Finding places that do the best brunch and breakfasts can be hard if you’re not ‘in the know!’ Don’t worry….it just so happens that we are, so here are our favourite places from the North Norfolk brunch scene.

Brunch on the coast

If you’re staying on the coast there are plenty of options for brunch and breakfast.

Brunch on the marshes is perfect for those who fancy a view with their food, The White Horse is great if you love the idea of tucking into your bacon butty just metres away from an abundance of wildlife, calm waterways and marshes. Once you’ve finished, why not walk it off along the coast path and take in the fresh sea air? There’s nothing better, no matter the season.

Where to brunch in North Norfolk

Wells-next-the-sea is home to one of our favourite little stopovers, Stiffkey Stores. This is located on the main coast road where you can grab a coffee and relax in one of their wooden huts or amongst the pampas and raised flower beds. Once you’ve finished you can have a browse in their shop and mini deli!

Brunch inland

Back To The Garden is a beautiful deli, farm shop and well-known cafe serving up everything from a full-English to pastries and granola. Situated just outside of Letheringsett it’s a great place to visit if you are staying in nearby Holt which is just a 5-minute drive away. You know it’s a great place to visit when locals can’t get enough too, but then again you can’t really go wrong when there’s an in-house butcher and bakery. Eat in the barn or relax in their courtyard on a sunny day, you won’t be disappointed!

For more options near our Holt holiday homes, our favourites include Byfords, Two Magpies, and Owl Tea Rooms.

For brunch closer to the Fakenham and Burnham Market area, Creake Abbey is a great place to hang out, eat and shop. Located off the B1355 between Fakenham and Burnham Market is a large farm shop, deli, cafe and multiple independent Norfolk shops (great if you’re staying in one of many Burnham Market holiday cottages)!

Pancakes, sausages and Cley smoked salmon are on the menu if you head to the Sandringham Estate tearoom! Although beware, this is one you should book! This is a lovely way to start your day off and with endless walks, playgrounds and wildlife to enjoy we’d recommend spending a few extra hours in the area after you’ve fuelled up on all the good stuff.

The ultimate brunch idea

If you’re organised enough then our favourite brunch experience would be enjoyed in a beach hut at Wells. Pack your favourite pastries, grab a coffee in Wells and head to your beach hut for the day! Whether you choose to have a romantic morning on the sands, a family trip for the day, brunch with friends or simply a morning to read your book and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Then this really is your ultimate Norfolk brunch spot!

We always recommend trying a couple of different restaurants throughout your stay. Ultimately the choice is up to you! wherever you decide to brunch in North Norfolk, we hope you have a great time!

Hugs,

The Norfolk Cottage Agency team
