Rural, quiet and peaceful. The Brecks refers to the Watton, Dereham, Thetford and Swaffham areas. Travelling further into Mid Norfolk, rolling fields and woodland greet you at every corner whilst positioning you close to the coast and the city centre of Norwich. Each village is home to rich heritage, traditional shops, and local markets giving you the complete feel of Country living.

No 1 Sparham Hill is located within a fully working farm giving you the opportunity for both seclusion and immersion in the culture.  Decorated to a high standard with a traditional country feel, the cottage is a great place to stay for those who love to explore the countryside. There are plenty of animals to enjoy and even stables available and parking for horse boxes if your four-legged friends include the horse as well as the dog. Far enough in the country to be peaceful but still a short drive to the local towns and cities.

Perfect for: Families, quiet escapes, wildlife enthusiasts, cyclists and walkers.

Don’t miss: St George’s Distillery, home of The English Whisky Co, is the first distillery in England in over 100 years and part of Norfolk’s heritage, based just off the A11 at Roudham. The distillery is open to the public 7 days a week and is well worth a visit. We recommend taking a tour!

Our favourite places: High Lodge at Thetford Forest. Play, run, climb or cycle your way around High Lodge in Thetford Forest and experience nature at its finest. Every corner of High Lodge has something just waiting to be discovered, the more you walk around the forest, the more you’ll find.

Events: We highly recommend keeping an eye on the events at Thetford Forest – they run large open-air concerts over the summer which are always very popular!
