Bacton Woods

North Walsham and Dilham Canal

This waterway, which is nearly 9 miles long, is Norfolk’s only locked sailing canal and is well known for the various leisure activities which it offers outdoor enthusiasts. Wild swimming is a wonderful way to enjoy the canal with an easy access point being the reach above Ebridge Mill and in Ebridge Mill Pond. Kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing and strolls along the towpaths are other great ways which locals and tourists experience the area. A great place for the more adventurous.
