Places To Eat & Drink in Aylsham
Unique and Fun Places To Eat in Aylsham
When you’re booking a self catering holiday cottage in Aylsham, one of your main priorities would be looking for the best places to eat and drink in the local area – especially if you’re someone who wants to explore the immediate area around where you’re staying.
Aylsham is becoming increasingly known for its food and beautiful tearooms. St Andrew’s Prospect is perfect for families and couples looking for a rural retreat and is within easy reach of the market town of Aylsham so you can make the most of your stay by visiting closeby independent eateries. The Cow Barn is a 5-minute drive to the beach and local village pub The Forge & Terrace at nearby Kelling Heath.
From local pubs, small tea rooms and even bakeries, Aylsham is home to a growing selection of quaint places to visit when you book one of our holiday cottages.
The Walpole Arms
For Spanish tapas set in the heart of the idyllic Norfolk countryside, The Walpole Arms is highly recommended and reviewed. Their traditional bar area with red brick walls, oak beams and the wood burner is perfect for a cosy setting to eat your evening meal, offering a charming atmosphere for both drinkers and diners alike.
It is recommended to book in advance for meals due to a limited capacity.
The Black Boys Hotel Pub & Restaurant
Named TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice 2021, The Black Boys Hotel Pub & Restaurant is situated in the heart of Aylsham town centre. Their menus cater for both traditional and more imaginative tastes and use locally sourced produce where possible.
The hotel features prominently in local Aylsham history, as in 1786 The Aylsham Association was founded and met there, while in the 1800s it was used as a Magistrates Court and in 1841 a ball was held there to celebrate peace after the Napoleonic Wars.
Biddy’s Tea Room
A unique place to visit, Biddy’s Tea Room has been described as “an absolute gem” by reviewers. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30am to 5:00pm with afternoon tea served 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Their Aylsham kitchen is on one level with accessible entry and has a dog-friendly area and courtyard.
The Buck’s Arms
The Buck’s Arms is a traditional 17th century pub and former coaching inn, located next to the Blickling Estate, perfect if you’re looking for things to do in and around Aylsham. You can enjoy a beautifully cooked meal set in picturesque surroundings and plenty of history.
Bread Source
For a brilliant bakery and café, as well as excellent coffee and service you will want to visit Bread Source. They are passionate about crafting each and every baked good and produce incredibly tasty food which you can try when you’re staying in one of our cottages.
