If you’re visiting the area and are looking for some luxury things to do whilst staying in a Norfolk holiday cottage, then STOP scrolling and read this blog. Here is our low down on luxurious things to do whilst on a Norfolk holiday.

Whilst Norfolk is full of great beaches, natural beauty, walks, cosy pubs, family attractions and more … It is also a great place to travel to if you’re in search of luxury, pampering, fine food and drink.

Here are some of our favourite luxury hot spots and cottages you may like to check out.

Afternoon tea

There are so many amazing places you can indulge in some tea and cake in the county. If themed afternoon teas are your thing then you need to book yourself into the Assembly House afternoon teas in Norwich. They run various themes throughout the year.

Next up is The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe on the north Norfolk coast – just a 2-minute walk from our Brancaster holiday cottages and not far from the wide expanse of sandy beaches at Brancaster and further along the coast. They offer a wonderful champagne afternoon tea, book a table with a view for the best possible experience – they always go the extra mile!

Lastly, if you’re around the west Norfolk area then afternoon tea at Sandringham Estate is a great option. Book your table in the restaurant and enjoy a very quintessential occasion.

Hire a boat on the Norfolk Broads

Do you love the idea of relaxing on a gorgeous yacht whilst being sailed around the Norfolk Broads? This is a wonderful experience for all ages and Norfolk luxury at its finest. A boat cruise provides guests with a wonderful, memorable experience whilst sipping your favourite drinks and nibbling on your favourite foods.

A great day out for your family holiday or with friends! Most boat charters can tailor-make a menu for you and cater for any kind of special occasion. Of course, you can also hire a smaller, non-luxury boat if the idea of cruising around the Norfolk Broads sounds exciting to you at a lower price tag. Either way, discovering the natural beauty of Norfolk is a must on a boat if you’re seeking that little bit of luxury!

Luxury things to do on your holiday

Where to head for boutique shopping

If you’re on the hunt for small, independent, great-quality shops to browse, then you won’t need to look any further than Holt and Burnham Market. Holt is a wonderful Georgian town with a whole plethora of boutique shops, florists, pubs and homewares. Luckily both Burnham Market and the market town of Holt (both near the coast) have some wonderful cafes, so you can ‘shop til you drop’ and then treat yourself to a cake (or 2) after. Both Holt and Burnham Market are within easy access to Norfolk’s wonderful sandy beaches – add a beach walk to your day for a true Norfolk experience.

Luxurious places to eat

The county really does have some amazing places to eat and drink. If you’re looking for the best fine dining the county has to offer, then a few places we would suggest are:

Morston Hall, Morston

Treat yourselves to a 7-course tasting menu at the exceptionally lavish hotel in Morston, headed up by Galton Blackiston. If you’re looking for luxury, then this is your place.

Meadowsweet, Holt

An intimate restaurant where you need to book months in advance! They open Wednesday-Sunday and offer a set menu with the very best locally sourced produce! The epitome of luxury and promises the extra mile!

Socius, Burnham Market

If you’re over towards Burnham Market then booking a table at Socius is a must. Especially for a Sunday roast! Perfect for your family holiday or a special treat with your friends or loved ones!

Gunton Arms, Near Cromer

A quirky, fun and well-loved pub/restaurant found in Thorpe Market a couple of miles outside of Cromer. Spot deers whilst eating steaks from the open fire! It’s also worth noting that there is a sister pub just down the road from Gunton Arms called The Suffield Arms. This is another atmospheric pub and restaurant with a great tapas-style menu.

The Dial House, Reepham

The Dial House can be found in Reepham and celebrates the very best produce which the local area has to offer. Their menus are constantly changing depending on the best produce available to them. If you’re hoping to eat somewhere a little more inland, then this is where you need to book.

The best cafes

When exploring it’s always good to know some wonderful places to drop into for a coffee break. Here are a few of our favourite places around Norfolk:

Creake Abbey, South Creake

A wonderful farm shop, perfect for those looking for local, Norfolk produce to take home to their Norfolk holiday home. Grab a coffee and some cake before you leave, you don’t want to miss out on this!

Back To The Garden, Letheringsett

Located just outside of Holt in the beautiful north Norfolk countryside is this wonderful farm shop and cafe offering some great Norfolk produce, breakfasts and cake! If you’re passing by Holt then make sure this is on your list to stop off at!

The Folly, Holt

A wonderful cafe found in Hoppers Yard in the market town of Holt. It is a quaint vintage tearoom loved by both residents and tourists alike. A great hideaway if you’re staying in one of our Holt holiday lets.

Wiveton Hall Cafe, Wiveton

Fancy relaxing with a hot chocolate on colourful seating overlooking the natural beauty of Norfolk and the marshes out towards the sea. A perfect place to head on a sunny day where you can take in the fresh air whilst indulging in some homemade scones!

Get pampered in Norfolk

Pampering and luxury are pretty synonymous, so we couldn’t finish this blog without mentioning some of the finest spas.

A favourite luxury Norfolk spa, Congham Hall, lies near Kings Lynn and boasts a lovely pool, spa garden and it’s the perfect place to unwind.

If you’re looking for something a little more north Norfolk, then take a look at The Pigs, which offers some great spa packages. Another favourite with the locals! If you’re looking to stay nearby then check out our Norfolk holiday properties.
