Why choose a holiday cottage in The Broads: With over 125 miles of navigable rivers and 40 inland broads, the best way to enjoy the Broads National Park is on the water. Waterways are lock-free and offer hassle-free cruising, with around 12 broads open all year and fully accessible. The Broads is the Venice of the East – in fact, the Norfolk Broads has more miles of waterway than the Italian city! It also has more waterways than Amsterdam! Enjoy fresh air, sparkling water and wide horizons by boat - you can even hop on and off your hire boat for a pub lunch and meander through local towns and villages. The Broads area though is much more than it's famous and instantly recognisable rivers and lakes! From here you can explore popular family attractions such as Wroxham Barns and BeWILDerwood as well as Fairhaven Woodland and Water Gardens (which has one of the prettiest stretches of water). Perhaps you may even want to pick up the Bure Valley Steam narrow gauge railway, which runs from Wroxham to Aylsham.

Perfect for: Boat lovers, adventure seekers, families, romantic breaks, couples.

Don’t miss: Wroxham is known as the capital of The Broads. Make sure you head here for a browse around and bite to eat!

Our favourite places: It's not all about boats - we love hiring a paddle board (or taking our own) to Coltishall where we then paddle over to Wroxham and sometimes even Horning. Both Coltishall and Horning are great spots for a pub lunch too!

Events: As previously mentioned, The Broads isn't just about the rivers, there are plenty of great local attractions which can be enjoyed - all of which have seasonal events throughout the year.
