The best places to have brunch in North Norfolk

If you're staying in, or around Brancaster, Burnham Market, Holkham and Thornham then check out these wonderful places for a relaxing breakfast or brunch.

Where to brunch in North Norfolk

So you're staying around North Norfolk? Perhaps you have a holiday cottage near Brancaster or you're residing in a Burnham Market cottage, either way finding places which do the best brunch and breakfasts can be hard if you're not 'in the know!' Don't just so happens that we are, so here are our top 10 picks from the North Norfolk brunch scene!

Where is North Norfolk?

Initially let's tick off how we define North Norfolk, as this differs from one local to another! At Norfolk Cottage Agency we refer to the North Norfolk coast running from Cromer all the way through to Brancaster (although Thornham is super close too!). What's amazing is that you can walk the Norfolk coast path all the way from one end to the other. (Check out our top 8 winter walks in Norfolk blog if walking is your thing!)

How far does North Norfolk go inland?

Again, this is very subjective, however a general thought is that the North Norfolk boundary runs from just North of Aylsham across to Guist and moves North West to Fakenham. It then takes in both of the Creakes, Burnham Market and then moves across to Brancaster.

So now we've got that sorted....let's chat brunch!

Here are our top 10 places to brunch in North Norfolk

Back To The Garden - just outside Letheringsett (about a 5 minute drive from Holt) is a real favourite with locals and tourists! A deli, farm shop and well known cafe serving up everything from a full-English to pastries and granola. You can't go wrong when there's an in-house butchers and bakery! Eat in the barn or relax in their courtyard on a sunny day! You won't be disappointed!

Head to Holt for a selection of brunch options! Our favourites include: Byfords, Two Magpies, Holt Cafe and Owl Tea Rooms.

The coast

Brunch on the marshes is perfect for those who fancy a view with their food (or who may be staying in a holiday cottage near Brancaster). Head to The White Horse if you love the idea of tucking into your bacon butty just meters away from an abundance of wildlife, calm waterways and marshes! Once you've finished, why not walk it off along coast path and take in the fresh sea air! There's nothing better, no matter the season!

Stiffkey Stores - one of our favourite little stop overs! Located on the main coast road through Stiffkey. There are a few parking spaces in the courtyard, however most folk just park along the street. Grab a coffee and relax in one of their wooden huts or amongst the pampas and raised flower beds. Once you've finished you can have a browse in their shop and mini deli!

Brunch inland

Creake Abbey is a great place to hang, eat and shop! Located off the B1355 between Fakenham and Burnham Market is a large farm shop, deli, cafe and multiple independent, Norfolk shops (great if you're staying in one of many Burnham Market holiday cottages)! There's plenty of space for the children to roam and a great added bonus of a little walk to the next door grade 1 listed, ruined abbey. Check out their farmers markets, gift fairs and seasonal events too!

Pancakes, sausages and Cley smoked salmon are on the menu if you head to the Sandringham Estate tearoom! Although beware, this is one you should book! This is a lovely way to start your day off and with endless walks, playgrounds and wildlife to enjoy we'd recommend spending a few extra hours in the area after you've fuelled up on all the good stuff.

The ultimate brunch idea

If you're organised enough then our favourite brunch experience would be enjoyed in a beach hut at Wells (Book yours at Happy Huts)! Pack your favourite pastries, grab a coffee in Wells and head to your beach hut for the day! Whether you choose to have a romantic morning on the sands, a family trip for the day, brunch with friends or simply a morning to read your book and escape the hustle and bustle of every day life. Then this really is your ultimate Norfolk brunch spot!

Wherever you decide to brunch in North Norfolk, we hope you had a great time!
